Level 1 Basic Obedience Class

With a puppy, the first thing on your mind will be house training or house breaking. However, during this phase you should also be teaching your dog basic manners. Teaching a dog basic obedience should be your number one priority. Even if you have an older pup or adult, the manners training is just as important.

Level 1 Basic Obedience is a 6 week class designed for dogs with no previous formal training. We will use primarily positive reinforcement training techniques to teach the dogs to sit down, sit, stay, come, leave it, focus, settle, touch as well as how to walk nicely on leash (no pulling) and greet people and other dogs politely. We will also start on the basics for the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen Program. This is a great training starting point for dogs’ ages 10 weeks and up.

Prerequisite: Friendly dogs who have current vaccines appropriate for their age.
